Bergen (6th July, 2025)
The morning air in Bergen was crisp as we packed the car to the brim—with snacks, clothes, toys, and all the little things kids might suddenly need on a road trip. Spirits were high as we left the city behind on July 6th, ready for new adventures. The car was buzzing with excitement—Yosmi humming her favorite song in the backseat, Avik pointing at every passing tunnel, and the adults juggling GPS, playlists, and coffee. Our journey had officially begun, and the road ahead felt full of promise.
We made a short stop in Voss where we stayed for a while to charge the car.
Voss
While waiting, Yoshmi and Avik happily enjoyed some ice cream, giggling as they picked their favorite flavors. The weather was lovely, so we took the chance to snap a few photos and record some videos to capture the moment. It was a relaxing break before continuing our journey toward Gudvangen.
While in Voss, we took a peaceful walk by the lake, and I captured the calm beauty in a short video. The still water reflected the surrounding mountains and clouds like a mirror, creating a serene and almost magical atmosphere.
Yoshmi and Avik wandered along the edge, tossing pebbles and laughing, while I took a few quiet moments to just soak it all in. It was one of those places that instantly slows you down—a perfect pause in our otherwise active day.
Driving to Gudvangen Camping
The drive from Voss to Gudvangen Camping was exhilarating—winding through mountains, along fjords, and through tunnels. The road clings to steep slopes with views of waterfalls cascading into valleys below. The landscape transforms from green hillsides to dramatic cliffs, making each turn exciting. By the time we reached Gudvangen, everyone was amazed by both the journey and scenery—truly a scenic, thrilling, and memorable stretch of road.
Njardarheimr Viking Village
Visiting Njardarheimr Viking Village felt like time travel. The wooden structures, staff in period costumes, and authentic atmosphere created an immersive experience. Yoshmi admired the weaponry while Avik explored the grounds. We captured videos of the smoky fires, artisans working, and Viking chants. Both educational and fun, it was our day's highlight.
